Roulette Terms

American Wheel -

A roulette wheel with an extra 0 pocket, labeled as 00. The pockets then include 00, 0, and 1 - 36.

Black Bet -

Betting that the ball will land on a black pocket.

Column bet -

Wagering on one of the three columns on the roulette table, making the bet on a 1/3 of the numbers.

Corner bet -

Betting on four numbers on the same spin.

Croupier -

The casino employee operating the roulette game.

Double Zero -

The 00 pocket on the American wheel.

European Wheel -

A roulette wheel with one 0 and the numbers 1 - 36.

Even Bet -

A wager that the ball will land on an even number.

High Bet -

Betting on the numbers 1 through 18.

Inside Bet -

Betting on any number or set of numbers in roulette.

Low Bet -

Betting on the numbers 19 through 36.

Odd Bet -

A wager that the ball will land on an odd number.

Outside Bet -

Betting on red, black, odd, even, high or low numbers.

Red Bet -

Betting that the ball will land on a red pocket.

Split Bet -

Betting on two numbers at the same time.

Straight Bet -

Betting on a single number. In roulette, a player can make an unlimited amount of straight bets.

Straight Up Bet -

Betting on only one single number.
